In the immediate vicinity you will find the Duinger lake area.
This is a beautiful forest and lake area west of Duingen, ideal for hiking, swimming, fishing and cycling, resulting from an old brown coal open-cast mine.
The Duingen lake and forest landscape begins around one kilometer west of Duingen. At the end of the 1960s, brown coal mining in this area was stopped and the former opencast mine was renatured. Since then, the Duinger lake landscape has invited those seeking relaxation to go hiking, cycling, swimming or fishing.
Discover, among other things, the Bruchsee, the Ententeich, the Weinbergersee and the Humboldtsee.
Several hiking car parks offer easy access to the recreation area and also have information boards with information about possible circular hiking trails.
In summer, the Bruchsee is a popular bathing lake. Shady berths between trees, but also small sandy sections invite you to linger. A kiosk with pedal boat rentals rounds off the offering in the warm months.
There is a campsite at Lake Humboldt with a children's playground and other amenities.
The Weinberger Lake and the duck pond are designated as nature reserves.
